Dissolver-Planetenrührwerke verfügen über zwei separate Antriebe. Dissolver-Planetenrührwerke sind sehr vielseitig einsetzbar. Sie verfügen über zwei separate Antriebe; dies ermöglicht, daß das langsamlaufende Planetenrührwerkzeug unabhängig vom hochtourigen Dissolver betrieben werden kann. Beide Drehzahlen lassen sich stufenlos einstellen und ermöglichen somit eine besondere Behandlung des Mischguts. Mit Hilfe des Dissolvers können gezielt hohe Scherkräfte auf das Produkt ausgeübt werden. Das Planetenrührwerkzeug bewirkt eine gute Vermischung selbst in Prozeßschritten mit höchster Viskosität. Außerdem läuft auch noch ein Wandabstreifer mit um, der das Produkt in Richtung Behältermitte fördert. Anstatt eines Dissolvers können natürlich auch andere Schnelläufer wie z.B. Schrägblattrührer eingesetzt werden. Oft kombiniert man auch einen Schrägblattrührer und einen Dissolver; der Schrägblattrührer sorgt dann für eine Strömung in Richtung Dissolver.
