Laj’s legacy dates back to 2010 when it started manufacturing paper bags in its home garage. Back then they only had one paper bag printing machine. The company initially focused on production of paper bags in small amounts in order to appeal to small and medium-sized businesses in need of customised and affordable paper bags. After years of hard work, the firm has managed to gain traction on numerous foreign markets. As a result, it purchased new business premises in the heart of Maribor city which nowadays represent a core of its production process. These day we have a capacity to manufacture up to 25, 000 bags a day, mostly by using inputs with relatively low environmental impacts such as recycled paper. Our core markets include Germany, France, Belgium and Denmark but we also derive a substantial portion of our revenue from the local market. Ever since our inception ten years ago, we endeavour to make the world a better place through reducing our reliance on plastic bags and related products and consequently contributing to a cleaner and pollution-free environment.

Tekstina’s legacy dates back to 1828. Through our history we went from a yarn retailer to become one of the leading manufacturers of printed fabric. The Slovenian textile industry has recently undergone a severe stress, resulting in collapse of numerous domestic textile companies. Tekstina was one of the few companies that were able to survive the turmoil. In order to improve the stability of its business, Tekstina has completely adapted to the new marketplace which requires companies to devote large amounts of funds to capital expenditures and posses their own design departments. As a result of this transformation, Tekstina nowadays sports a value added per employee of over 80, 000 EUR which represents a remarkable achievement for this industry.
