Nettle herb is collected in the mountains and forests of Bulgaria. Flowering period is from April to September months. The stems and leaves of plants of this genus are covered with burning hairs, which give the Latin name: uro - "burning". In Bulgarian folk medicine, nettle is used for rheumatism, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, headache, epilepsy, hysteria, cough, shortness of breath, dropsy, jaundice, hives, diabetes mellitus.
Nettle flour is made from dried leaves and tips of the plant. It is a convenient way to enjoy all the benefits of nettle. They all act as antioxidants in the body.
