The company is located in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg and has a worldwide logistics network, with representatives in over 20 countries worldwide. Witthinrich GmbH emerged from the ENERGIE Group (now known as ALPINE-ENERGIE) founded in 1920. It was a well-known installation company for overhead lines up to 380 kV and for mobile radio systems. The ENERGIE Group had also made a name for itself as a supplier of materials for electrical distribution networks in the 1–380 kV voltage classes.
