Tekstina’s legacy dates back to 1828. Through our history we went from a yarn retailer to become one of the leading manufacturers of printed fabric. The Slovenian textile industry has recently undergone a severe stress, resulting in collapse of numerous domestic textile companies. Tekstina was one of the few companies that were able to survive the turmoil. In order to improve the stability of its business, Tekstina has completely adapted to the new marketplace which requires companies to devote large amounts of funds to capital expenditures and posses their own design departments. As a result of this transformation, Tekstina nowadays sports a value added per employee of over 80, 000 EUR which represents a remarkable achievement for this industry. Tekstina primarily manufactures fabrics for shirts and working suits. In the future, the company aims to further increase innovation as its long-term plan is to transform from manufacturer of fabrics to provider of various services using innovative materials. In the 1970s, then still under the GORENJE Group, the company decided to develop new types of machines to meet the needs of farmers around the world. The REX Combi, a professional mower designed for mowing on difficult terrain, was born and served as the basis for the further development of the UNIVERZAL and SPECIAL single-axle tractors. The rapid global development prompted the company to develop a new family of machines called "KOSOR". These new machines and motor cultivators, such as the MAESTRAL, PROFI, and KOMBI, have been designed with the latest design approaches to allow easy handling, excellent maneuverability, and the ability to change attachments quickly and safely.
